Join hundreds of Proutists, educators, activists, community builders, and change-makers from around the world for six days of inspiration, collaboration, and practical action at the Prout Convention 2026.
In a time of deep ecological, economic, and social uncertainty globally, many are searching for new pathways that restore balance between people, communities, and the planet. This year’s theme:
Economic Democracy: Creating Well-being for All invites us to explore how we can reclaim economic power for individuals and communities, and translate Prout’s vision into concrete, lived alternatives.
This year, we meet in Avnø Oasis Ecovillage
What to Expect
-
Keynote talks and interactive presentations
-
Practical workshops and strategy labs
-
Community dialogues and networking
-
Music, cultural evenings, and celebration
-
Daily nourishing vegetarian meals
-
Time for rest, walks, ocean visits, and reflection
-
A warm, international, and values-aligned community
Economic democracy is not just an economic model
It is a lived expression of collective care, cooperation, and empowerment.
It involves:
-
Reclaiming community control over resources
-
Strengthening cooperative ownership and local self-reliance
-
Building economies rooted in human dignity and ecological balance
-
Designing systems that nurture well-being rather than extraction
Throughout the convention, we will explore practical responses to the central question:
How can we move from today’s centralised and exploitative systems toward decentralised, cooperative, and life-affirming economies — in our own communities?
Expect sessions that are hands-on, example-driven, and solution-oriented, highlighting real-world initiatives and offering space for collaborative planning and strategic development.
Venue: Avnø Oasis Ecovillage & Højskole
https://avno.org/
Unlike in previous years, this year’s convention will not be held in Ananda Gaorii Master Unit.
The convention will be hosted at Avnø Oasis Ecovillage, a vibrant community, adult learning centre (højskole), and regenerative hub on the Danish coast.
Avnø Oasis is a living example of community, sustainability, learning, and regeneration in practice. Set within a protected natural area near the sea, it offers an ideal environment for reflection, collaboration, creativity, and renewal.
See Travel Information below for how to reach the venue
Convention for the Whole Family
The Prout Convention warmly welcomes families.
Alongside the main programme, there will be a coordinated children’s programme, offering a playful, supportive, and inspiring environment where children embark on their own journey of self-discovery, cooperation, creativity, and connection with nature.
Through stories, games, crafts, movement, and reflection, children will explore core values of Prout in age-appropriate and experiential ways — making the convention a nourishing experience for all generations.
Collective spiritual practices
Each day includes optional morning, midday, and evening sessions, offering space to pause, reflect, and reconnect — both individually and collectively.
These practices are for practices universal in nature. They cultivate a direct sense of connection, inner clarity, and oneness with others and the wider world.
At the heart of Prout is the understanding that meaningful social and economic transformation must be rooted in inner development and connection to the whole. Spiritual practices support this by strengthening awareness, compassion, and a sense of shared purpose — all essential foundations for economic democracy and collective well-being.
Art & Culture
Art plays a vital role in shaping the direction of society. At the Prout Convention, we recognise that culture is not neutral — it can uplift, inspire, and guide humanity toward its highest potential.
Throughout the week, art and music will be woven gently into the fabric of the gathering, creating an atmosphere that supports reflection, connection, and collective elevation.
Convention Programme
See the general convention programme below.
Facilitators of each session will be announced shortly.
